I’ve gathered a bunch of random skills and tools over the years that can be of some limited use, so I figured I would list them here. Kind of like a CV, but less serious, just something for friends to reference.
The corollary of being a jack of all trades does apply, but I love to help, so… ask away.
I have a FDM printer - the Elegoo Neptune 2 - and a couple of dusty PLA spools. And one translucent blue PET-G spool.
I’ll be happy to print any random doohickey for you, provided it’s somewhat time-feasible (doesn’t take over half a day to print). All it takes is a .stl file - send one my way and we can talk.
If your model is huge or highly complex, you might want a 3D printing lab. If you want something precise and decorative (like minis, figurines and such), it would be better to print on a resin printer, which I don’t have.
This website is itself a hint of my HTML/CSS/JS knowledge, though I’ve also written and am hosting a Django app (for internal small business use). I’ve written and hosted Discord bots. I’m blessed with a small server room, some public IPs and a bit of bandwidth.
I’m not exactly a software dev - I know some Python and even a bit of Rust, but I’ve only really ever done simple projects.
I’m also happy to advise anyone who’s looking for opinions on tech purchases, looking to make the switch to Linux or make something work on their Steam Deck.
We’re in an era of peak enshittification, and open source tech has never been a more appealing alternative. The more, the merrier…
Not gonna lie - I haven’t been drawing in a long time. I can pick the pen up for a simple commission, but I’m completely out of practice.
I’ve been learning the language for quite a few years now. I have no paper to show for it, just experience talking with Japanese folks over voice chat and Twitter, which isn’t much - but I’ve been on stream holding a conversation successfully, so I’m sure that counts for something.
I’ve also done some small-time translating, most of which is for Houshou Marine’s English fan Discord server. You’ll catch me in Marine’s member-only posts with a translation to save people clicks and clear up misunderstandings.
As with the other skills, I’m not a master. But I can help if you need some quick advice.
